Evaluations:
Evaluations typically are completed during one 60-90 minute session. Sometimes a phone interview is completed prior to the evaluation and sometimes the parent or caregiver is asked to complete a questionnaire as part of the evaluation. An evaluation looks at the child’s strengths and challenges and attempts to determine a reason for those challenges. Once an evaluation is completed, the family is supplied with a written report of the results. Additional copies are available upon request.
Therapy:
If therapy is recommended and a family chooses to pursue it, then a written treatment plan is developed that will guide your child’s therapy. All therapy is provided in the home or childcare settings and families are requested to participate at some level in therapy depending on the age of the child. Carry-over activities will be provided for families to work on throughout the week. On-going assessment is part of the therapy process and formal progress reports are completed every six months.
